After spending almost a month recuperating from a persistent respiratory infection, I’m finally getting ready to hike again. When I left the trail a few weeks ago, I returned to Florida for a week, then stopped in Charleston for a few days to see my daughter.
Now I’m back in the Denver area acclimatizing before I jump back on the Colorado Trail and pick up where I left off. Instead of just hanging out at 5,000′ feet for a few days, I’m taking the opportunity to explore nearby towns at higher elevations, like Nederland and Estes Park.
They say “hike high, sleep low” which is exactly what I’m doing!
